TREETOP HOSTEL TERMS AND CONDITIONS


 

BOOKINGS AND RESERVATIONS


 

  1. You may book a reservation for a room in advance through [our online booking system][over the telephone]. Pricing at the time of booking will be the latest prices (together with any discounts available) as shown on our website.

  2. Prices are as set out in Schedule 1. A non-refundable reservation fee of £75 per room will apply to secure your booking.

  3. All payments need to be made online – we do not accept cash. Payment for your booking will be taken [

] days before you arrival date or as otherwise advised by us.

  1. Bookings are subject to availability at all times.

  2. When we accept your booking and send you a booking confirmation, a binding contract will be in place between us.

  3. Unless we notify you otherwise, a booking period shall be for two weeks though longer stays are possible as extended stays. You may re-book for subsequent periods however each booking is subject to availability and we do not guarantee subsequent bookings will be on the same basis (including but not limited to the same room being available, the same pricing be applied or same payment terms applying). It is your responsibility to check the booking terms and conditions before making any and each booking.

  4. We reserve the right to decline any booking at our sole discretion.

  5. All bookings are subject to your agreement to the rest of these terms and conditions too.

AGE, GROUPS AND OCCUPANCY


 

  1. All guests must be over the age of 21.

  2. We do not accept couples, families or pets.

  3. The occupancy limit of one person to a room must be observed at all times. We do not allow and you should not bring overnight guests, friends, family or other third parties onto the premises and into your room. 

  4. You expressly agree that your booking of a room shall not give you the right to occupy it as a dwelling under a licence.

  5. The hostel is a commercial premises.


 

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE


 

  1. Check in time on the day of your arrival will be 5pm

  2. Check out time on the day of your departure will be 10 am

  3. If you renew a booking, the check in time and check out times and check in process will still apply to allow us to clean rooms, change rooms if we need to and ensure you agree to the terms and conditions for each separate booking.

  4. Upon check in, you will be required to provide the following:

    1. Valid photo ID (passport or driving licence);

    2. Declaration of whether you are receiving housing benefits and if such benefits are being used to pay for a booking with our hostel; and

    3. A credit card to hold on file for damages.


 

  1. Upon departure, we reserve the right to inspect the room for any damage incurred. Any damages shall be decided by us and charged to you at check out.


 

CANCELLATION

You can cancel your booking for a full refund less the reservation fee no more than 14 days before your arrival date. However, cancellations less than 14 days before your arrival date will incur in the full price being charged.

HOSTEL RULES

During your stay, you agree to the following house rules.


 

  • No antisocial behaviour Including but not limited to; violent, threatening, intimidating or harassing behaviour, hate crimes, drunkenness, illegal drug possession/use, noise disturbance & criminal damage

/ activity.

  • Communal Areas: SHARE THE SPACE amicably and respectfully with other guests.

  • No Smoking is allowed anywhere on the premises.

  • Noise – keep to a minimum. Always turn noise down when requested. Avoid loud music after [10 pm]

  • Don’t cause a nuisance for other guests in the hostel (or for neighbours), through untidiness, intrusiveness, or inappropriate behaviour.

  • Security CCTV - The property is managed by Astron fire and security / for the security of the guests and property. You must keep front and rear doors locked and report any strangers.

  • Intercom - Do not share the front door code with anyone. This is for the security of the building.

  • False alarm - in the event of a false alarm, MAKE SURE IT WAS A FALSE ALARM FIRST - then follow the instruction near the reception to reset the alarm system if the hostel manager is not available.

  • Report any damage immediately to the hostel Manager.

  • Heating is regulated. Guests may NOT bring in their own heaters.

  • Make yourself aware of the fire exits and locations of fire extinguishers while staying.

  • In case of fire, ring 999 and follow the signs to exit the front or rear of the building.

  • Guests are required to join a group Chat on WhatsApp. This is for easy communication between the managers and the guests.

  • You may not start up a business on the premises registered at 13B Gloucester Road on Companies House or use the room for storing commercial goods for sale

  • In the Kitchen: Guests are expected to use the cleaning products supplied to keep clean (surfaces and floors). Wash up and load/unload dishwasher. Guests must take bins down to reception if full for cleaners/hostel managers to take out/Liners then must be replaced.Any food and drink left in the kitchen will be at your own risk. We are not responsible for this.

  • Shared Bathrooms: Guests are expected to clean the floors and bathrooms as they go.

  • Cleaning your bedroom – you are responsible for this during your stay in order to keep the smells down!!. There are cleaning products under the sink and under the stairs.

  • Laundry room: Remove lint from the dryer before and after use. This is to prevent a fire. It is not permitted to dry clothes in your room or in the communal area (this is to stop moisture build up and taking up space from others).

  • Keep the Room allocated to you, and its contents, in good clean condition.

  • Room Entry (by hostel Managers/Handymen/cleaners), notice will be provided where appropriate. Acceptable notice may be as a knock or a text message and up to the discretion of manager depending on the situation and time of day.

  • The ground floor corridor and the upstairs communal areas / Roof terrace / all areas will be regularly accessed by the hostel Manager.

  • Services provided include bedding, laundry(charged), communal area cleaning, toilet rolls and cleaning materials.

  • Room inventories vary but may include: Bedding, bed linen, chest of drawers, desk, chairs, bedside cabinet, curtains, lampshades, mirrors. Any damage or loss or theft of these must be reported to the manager of the hostel immediately.


 

  • Lost keys will be charged at £25 per key to cover cost and time involved for replacement.

  • Respect your hostel Manager – They ensure hostel rules are followed. They are not a 24 hours service, please do not disturb them late in the evenings unless it’s an emergency.


 

INSURANCE AND PERSONAL EFFECTS


 

1. You shall be responsible for all your personal effects at all times. While we have insurance in place for our building and contents, we assume no liability whatsoever for any loss, damage or theft of your belongings. It is your responsibility to store them securely and insure valuables as deemed appropriate by you. If you choose to leave them in your room or communal areas, you do so at your own risk.


 

DATA PROTECTION


 

  1. In taking bookings and providing you with rooms at our hostel, we will be required to request, store and process your personal data. For more information, please see and read our privacy policy (available at www.treetophostel.com)

OUR LIABILITY


 

  1. We will not be responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable whether direct or indirect losses, claims or damages;

  2. Our entire liability to you in respect of this contract and terms and conditions will not exceed the value of your booking less any reservation fee. However, nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to or will exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence (including that of our employees, agents or subcontractors); or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

  3. Also, nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to or will exclude, limit, prejudice, or otherwise affect any of our duties or obligations to you, or your rights or recourse, or our liability to you, under each of the following (laws to protect consumers):

the Consumer Rights Act 2015;

The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (the ‘Regulations”);

the Consumer Protection Act 1987; or

any other consumer protection legislation; each amended from time to time.


 

CONSUMER REGULATIONS

We are required by the Regulations to ensure that certain information is given or made available to you as a consumer before we make our contract with you (i.e. before we accept your request to make a booking). As well as information given in these terms and conditions, anything else we tell you about the services or hostel before or at the time of booking will also be part of these terms and conditions.


 

OTHER PROVISIONS


 

  1. If any of these terms and conditions or any provisions of a contract with you are determined to be invalid unlawful or unenforceable to any extent, such term, condition or provision will to that extent be removed from the remaining terms, conditions or provisions which will continue to be valid to the fullest extent permitted by law.

  2. We always welcome feedback from our guests and, whilst we always use all reasonable efforts to ensure that your stay with us is good, you can let us know if you have any concerns. Please raise the matter with the hostel manager.

  3. We may from time to time change these terms and conditions without giving you notice. All changes can be seen on our website here the latest terms and conditions will be posted..

  4. These terms and conditions and the contract formed between us shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England Wales.

  5. Any dispute, proceedings or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions or the contract between us shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.

I confirm I have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions and will abide by its terms.

No refund will be given for early departure.
